The challenge

Marston's has been a part of the British pub landscape for over 180 years, and in that time has grown from a small family-run business to a PLC with 1,500 pubs. The pub estate is made up of a variety of formats, from community locals to more premium restaurants, with each style providing a slightly different customer experience and food and drink offering.

Marston's needed a creative agency that could understand the subtle differences between each format and really get under the skin of how each style of pub should communicate with its customer base. With each format requiring multiple menu and POS designs throughout the year, the Marston's marketing team also needed an agency that could cope wih vast volumes of artwork and expertly turn around assets at a pace.

The solution worked closely with Marston's to develop a seamless relationship between teams and a thorough understanding of each pub format.

From helping to steer new menu strategy, to evolving creative concepts and delivering on hundreds of pieces of print-ready artwork for each new menu campaign, M3 ensured each pub format was furnished with creative that connected with its audience and arrived on time against tight deadlines - week in, week out.
