Ben Williams and Cayven Valentine from the Gleeson Marketing and Digital team shared some great insight into some of the current recruitment trends, including which sector areas are currently going through high levels of recruitment and what businesses and candidates like to see when searching for a new role – which in turn can provide recruitment insight to marketing teams. They also informed us of the fastest growing job roles, and the fastest growing skill sets within them.
Andy Taylor - Commercial Director at Electric House (On The Tools)
Andy shared the story of the successful rise of On The Tools, which started life as an app solution for highlighting unreliable tradespeople and how to avoid them. Their answer to market the app on a limited budget was the creation of a Facebook page. Powered by hilarious user content plus collaboration with brands such as Jewson and Scruffs Hardware have propelled their Facebook followers to over 3 million. They obviously ditched the app!
Gary Taylor - Deputy Managing Director at TMWI
Gary showed us why local mobile is important to all brands; sharing compelling insight and statistics on mobile marketing and how to not miss out on reaching our target audience. TWMI can build hyper-local mobile campaigns on relatively small budgets by creating targeting around a store, with the ability to provide and collate granular data on in-store visits.
Gareth Lloyd - Director of Partnerships at Birmingham 2022
The Commonwealth Games heads to the West Midlands in 2022. Gareth highlighted the importance that is being placed on the community, with expectations helping to form the games’ Mission Statements. He talked about the key part that the community will play in the advertising efforts. Gareth also highlighted the impact of sponsorship on a global scale, enabling legacy initiatives across all 71 competing nations.
